Atacama Desert, Chile
In this written journey, Isabelle finds herself trekking across the rugged and beautiful Atacama Desert. This vast, remote high desert is considered the driest non-polar place in the entire world! In some areas, there has been no record of rainfall for hundreds of years.
Despite its harsh conditions, Isabelle spends some time exploring the moon-like landscape, where she sees geysers, salt flats, rainbow-colored canyons, volcanoes, sand dunes, and more!
She learns about the Atacameño people and their amazing ways of life, ventures through the tiny travelers' town of San Pedro de Atacama, and meets a new friend with the most glorious pink feathers.... a Chilean Flamingo!🦩
